Bak Chor Mee made easy! Simple home recipe for a Singaporean hawker favourite~
Bak Chor Mee (肉脞面)
This is one of the classic dishes that you will invariably find in any hawker centre in Singapore. However, it can be quite difficult to recreate at home or when living abroad. Ingredients such as pork liver, pork balls, pork dumplings etc. are not always readily available, or may take up substantial preparation time.
My Bak Chor Mee recipe therefore simplifies this hawker favourite by using basic ingredients that will still be able to satisfy those cravings. It's also a healthier and lighter option for those that want to save some calories.
Do give this recipe a try, and don't forget to leave me a thumbs up if this video has been helpful! (:

Pan Fried Dumplings (Yaki-Gyoza/焼き餃子/ぎょうざ) (Guotie/锅贴/鍋貼) Pan fried dumplings are commonly known as the Japanese Yaki-Gyoza or the Chinese Guotie. Both are similar in cooking style where the dumplings are first steamed or bathed in water to lock in the juices, before being pan-fried to create a beautifully crisp, golden brown underside. While you can save some time by using store-bought dumplin...

How to cook Thai Basil Beef (easy home recipe)

This dish is so flavourful and appetising that it goes perfectly well with a bowl of steaming hot white rice. However, I like to serve it with my version of fried pineapple rice that has extra fruit and vegetables to make it a balanced meal. CNY Special! Homemade Ngoh Hiang (Five-Spice Meat Rolls)
Переглядів 46 тис.9 років тому
These traditional meat rolls are something much loved by many families. I grew up enjoying my mother’s homemade Ngoh Hiang-it was (and still is) a must-have at Chinese New Year. She combines pork, prawns, and crabmeat with a flavoursome sauce, adding some carrots and spring onions that are chopped so finely that even a child who dislikes vegetables would find no fault with the delicious result....
How to cook Pineapple Fried Rice (easy home recipe)
Переглядів 9 тис.9 років тому
This is an easy-to-cook dish that many people do not attempt because they either find it a chore to cut a whole pineapple or do not know how to do so. This is not a problem in my recipe as I use can-tinned pineapple! Now there is no reason not to enjoy this bright and cheery dish! (; I served this dish with Thai Basil Beef (video recipe coming soon!) and therefore omitted protein ingredients fr...

Sukiyaki (すき焼き) is a Japanese hot pot dish that is commonly found at Japanese year-end parties (bōnenkai) and hence a perfect choice of recipe for the last #SundaysWithAngie video of 2015! I love to serve this dish on cold winter nights as it is full of flavour without extra dipping sauces! Preparation is kept to the minimum; just cutting and mixing the sauce/broth. The rest of the evening can ...

Christmas is not all about buying gifts and having lavish feasts; it is much more than these things! To me, Christmas is about celebrating and sharing God’s gift of love that was given to us through a baby boy born into this world two thousand years ago. His purpose is to give love to our world that is broken. And we love because He first loved us. 7 years ago, my husband and I decided to break...

How to Cook Tofu: Tauhu Telur (Tofu with Egg)

Tauhu telur (lit: tofu with egg) is a dish that originated from Indonesia (Surabaya city, East Java). This is one dish that I love to order every time I visit an Indonesian restaurant. Having been in UK for a number of years now without an Indonesian restaurant in my area, I decided to create my own version. The lovely aroma of eggs mixed with tofu, drizzled with sauce produces a yummy result t...
Homemade Egg Tofu with 3 Basic Ingredients

Why make tofu when you can buy it? That's because of the satisfaction you get out of making your own tofu with just 3 basic ingredients (no extra preservatives!). It is fresh, light and tasty! You can use this homemade tofu as a side dish, main meal as well as in soups. My favourite dish is steamed tofu in egg omelet, topped with shredded cucumber and carrot, drizzled in prawn paste sauce (also...

That is NOT thai basil at all
She never said it was? Thai basil tastes better in this dish, but sweet basil or plain old basil does the job, just not as fragrant.
There are 3 kinds of basils actually used in Thai cuisine. The one in this video isn't any of the 3. And as someone who saw people making Pad Krapow almost every days I'm quite cringed seeing someone making Pad Krapow Nuea that way lol.
Question... What kind of Black Vinegar is good and works? (for making Bak Chor Mee or other noodle-toss-dressings) I got regular Chinese ChinKiang black vinegar from the Asian store yesterday. Of course, I couldn’t find any Malaysian nor Singaporean brand vinegars. Will ChinKiang work for Bak Chor Mee?
That should be fine
Best bak chor mee recipe on YT! 👏😋✨✨
Delicious
I cant drink wine.. can i skip that part?
Yummi Angela. ... Thanks for sharing... Gbu....
This is a fail on so many levels... you kept all the fat in the meat, so when it coats your tongue, you wont be able to taste anything... just a fatty mess. Thats not Thai Basil at all, this will taste like total shit using that kind of basil... its great for Italian cooking, but not for Asian.
I was about to complain "What the heck was that. That wasn't even one of the basils actually used in Thai cuisine, let alone it's holy basil or not" lol.
In macau they put water and salt. thank you
Anybody knows hoe to make it in healthy ways ? Please share.
sorry , can i know the ingredients . what mirin and sake ?
I was with you up until you put the mushrooms in the fried rice the reason I said is because I'm allergic to mushrooms but I guess it don't matter seeing as you made for yourself and not me
Huuu looks delicious
It should be called soy milk custard. tofu requires coagulating process.
Thank you really miss this oversea .
really???u missed the tufo...
Can i use canned pineapple?
deathpearl360 I believe canned pineapple was used in the video.
yes
super cool
excellent
The song is so annoying grrrrrr
Doesn't look like thai basil leaves.. but rather sweet basil
how do you salt the chicken?
Try indonesian omurice, way way better with more simple ingredients
wow, I was searching a recipe for "egg scramble" made with silken tofu. How did I get on this?😂
THIS IS VERY HELPFUL THANK YOU
this is NOT japanese omurice
pudding minus sugar and vanilla
Interesting.. but where's the omelette? Omurice is an omelette on top of ketchup fried rice. Nonetheless, the "volcano" sculpting part took the most effort and was destroyed during process of cooking. End product is just ketchup fried rice with a lot of eggs.
Himuka get your facts straight the fried rice DOES NOT always need to have ketchup idiot your not even japanese
@@heyjustaskmelater ... this recipe, as many others, uses ketchup, though.
I made some tahu telor randomly from memory from my restaurant days and was trying to remember what it was missing: fish sauce in the egg mixture! Thanks for the reminder!
what are the sauce mixture? thnx ...
using a plastic to cover the food while cooking it is very harmful for your health!!! use aluminum foil instead!!!!
rain justine don’t use aluminum foil it’s the same as plastic wrap!!!!!!!
You think Al is better? metal once it goes into your body, it's not easy to get it out.
Using banana leaf please....that's more safety....
